How Dr. Ochoco Determines If Veneers Are Right for You
First, he asks some questions, then listens carefully to your answers. You are welcome to bring older photos of yourself from a time when you were happier with your smile. He wants to understand what you’d like to change, but also what you’d like to keep.
From there, Dr. Ochoco evaluates your smile in relation to your whole face: tooth shape, proportion, lip line, how your smile moves, and how the teeth relate to facial features and age.
He also considers whether veneers are actually the most appropriate option in your case. In some cases, he can just as easily resolve the aesthetic issue with composite bonding or professional whitening, with less involvement and lower cost. If a more conservative treatment can achieve the desired result, Dr. Ochoco will say so.
How Personalized Smile Design Works
After your consultation, Dr. Ochoco creates physical mockups of the proposed veneers by hand. You try them, see how they look, and share your reaction.
He notes what works and what needs adjustment. Those observations go to the dental lab along with his detailed specifications for the final restorations. The lab then produces a digital version for your further review.
You see the design at multiple stages, and Dr. Ochoco refines it at each one. This collaboration results in a smile enhancement that truly reflects your preferences and vision.
Many cosmetic patients who come to Schuster and Ochoco Dental explain that their goal is a smile that looks better, not necessarily different. They have seen veneers that look too white, too uniform, or too obvious, and that’s not their vision. What they want is a smile that suits their face, fits their age, and feels natural enough that no one can quite explain why they look so good.
